Together, we can keep Scottish culture alive and thriving.

United Scottish Clans of Oklahoma is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that was founded in 1986 by a small group of Scottish enthusiasts to educate Oklahomans about Scottish heritage and culture. Since then, USCO has organized more than 20 Scottish festivals, Burns Night celebrations, and other community events.

We also assist with various cultural activities like pipes and drums, Scottish athletics, highland dancing, ancestral research and Gaelic language studies. As a 100% volunteer-run organization, we need support from generous partners and donors like you to keep our mission alive and sustain our cultural programs.

THE STORY BEHIND THE

OKLAHOMA TARTAN

In 1998, Jerrel Murray designed the official tartan for the state of Oklahoma – a field of blue with bands of red, black, gold and white (pictured above). The blue symbolizes the sky while the other colors represent Oklahoma’s natural resources: red clay, black oil and golden wheat. Our organization holds exclusive rights to the tartan, and it’s available in our online store for purchase. Whether you’re Scottish or not, we invite you to join us in celebrating our shared Oklahoma heritage.

Our Mission

United Scottish Clans of Oklahoma is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to protecting, preserving and promoting Scottish and Celtic culture, language and values while improving the quality of life for future generations.

Our Vision

We’re an organization made up of individuals who, Scottish or not, love Scottish culture and strive to share that love with others in the state of Oklahoma. USCO brings together those interested in Celtic music, dance, athletics, ancestral research and more to celebrate the unique heritage of Scotland.
